During an Overseas Sales visit AquaTerra were asked to supply Dangerous Goods (DG) Training to an IOC operating in West Africa.
At that time, DG training was not included in AquaTerra's portfolio so another Aberdeen based training provider was sourced to work with AquaTerra to run this course for the single client in their West African office for their own personnel and some of their contractors.
The service quickly evolved and resulted in the offering of open courses to an expanding client base in West Africa. Regular fortnightly blocks of courses were run 2 or 3 times per year, with up to 20 candidates attending each day.
Negotiations with the training provider led to a merger with AquaTerra Training in April, 2012. AquaTerra Training was soon established as an approved provider of DG training both in Aberdeen and Overseas, being one of only a handful of companies in the UK to offer DG by Air and Sea Radioactives.
DG courses are now being offered in Ghana, Mauritania, Chad, Egypt Kurdistan and Kenya in addition to the UK scheduled open courses.
